The following products represent our commonly used calcium chloride container desiccants. All featured models utilize multi-layer packaging for optimal leak prevention. We also manufacture single-layer versions, which employ materials with excellent toughness and seepage resistance (though slightly less robust than multi-layer options), primarily offering a more cost-effective moisture protection solution.

Container Dry Pole
Model CODB-91-10: The product interior consists of 10 bags of calcium chloride powder, each with a net weight of 100g, total net weight 1000g. The inner bags use leak-proof packaging material. A middle layer of non-woven fabric provides reinforced leak protection. The outermost layer is reinforced with a hard cardboard shell for improved crush resistance.

Model CODC-91-10: The product interior consists of 10 bags of calcium chloride powder, each with a net weight of 100g, total net weight 1000g. The inner bags use leak-proof packaging material. The exterior is wrapped in non-woven fabric for enhanced seepage resistance.

Container Dry Strip Plus
Model CODC-91-14: The product interior consists of 14 bags of calcium chloride powder, each with a net weight of 100g, total net weight 1400g. The inner bags use leak-proof packaging material. The exterior is wrapped in non-woven fabric for strengthened seepage resistance.

Cargo Dry Blanket
Model CODC-91-20C2: The product interior consists of 15 arranged bags of calcium chloride powder, increasing the desiccant’s moisture absorption surface area for improved absorption capacity. The exterior is wrapped in non-woven fabric for enhanced leak resistance.
Our container desiccants are primarily divided into two categories: Calcium Chloride Container Desiccant and Magnesium Chloride Container Desiccant.
- Calcium Chloride Container Desiccant is mainly composed of calcium chloride and plant starch. It works by leveraging the strong hygroscopicity of calcium chloride to absorb moisture from the air. After absorption, the moisture combines with the starch to form a gel, effectively preventing liquid leakage. Under conditions of 50°C and 95% relative humidity (RH), its moisture absorption rate can reach up to 300% within 30 days.
- Magnesium Chloride Container Desiccant is primarily made from magnesium chloride and a polymer absorbent material. It powerfully absorbs moisture from the packaged environment and gradually hardens into a solid after absorption, preventing moisture reverse permeation. Under conditions of 50°C and 95% relative humidity (RH), its moisture absorption rate can reach up to 400% within 30 days.
Why Use Container Desiccant?
During transportation, the temperature inside a container rises and falls with the day-night cycle, causing the relative humidity inside to fluctuate. This ultimately leads to two common issues: “Container Rain” and “Cargo Sweat” Container desiccants are specifically designed to address these problems by absorbing excess moisture inside the container, thereby preventing condensation.

Cargo Sweat
Container Rain: Occurs when a container moves from a high-temperature zone to a low-temperature zone, causing the internal temperature to drop below the dew point. Water vapor then condenses into droplets that accumulate on the container’s ceiling and walls, eventually dripping onto the cargo.
Cargo Sweat: Occurs when cargo is transported from a cold region to a warm region, or when its storage environment changes from cold to hot. Moisture in the air condenses on the cold surface of the cargo or its packaging, forming water droplets.
What Type of Container Desiccants Can Meet the Needs of Sea Cargo Shipping?
There is no single “best” desiccant—each type has its own strengths, limitations, and ideal applications. Compared to traditional clay and silica gel desiccants, calcium chloride(or magnesium chloride) offers a higher moisture absorption rate and a broader effective temperature range. This makes it especially suitable for demanding environments with high humidity levels or harsh conditions.
1)Calcium Chloride Anhydrous:
- Calcium Chloride Anhydrous Desiccant: Moisture Absorption Rate: ≥300%, Temperature Range: -5°C to 90°C.
- Clay & Calcium Chloride Blend Desiccant: Moisture Absorption Rate: ≤85%, Temperature Range: <50°C.
- Clay Desiccant / Silica Gel Desiccant: Moisture Absorption Rate: ≤30%, Temperature Range: <50°C (Clay), <37°C (Silica Gel).
2)Magnesium Chloride Anhydrous:
- Magnesium Chloride Desiccant: Absorption Rate ≥ 400%, Temp. Range: -35°C to 95°C
- Clay/Calcium Chloride Blend: Absorption Rate ≤ 85%, Temp. Range: < 50°C
- Clay Desiccant / Silica Gel: Absorption Rate: ≤ 30%, Temp. Range: < 50°C (Clay) / < 37°C (Silica Gel)
1)Calcium chloride desiccant is primarily composed of calcium chloride and plant-based starch in a specific ratio. It functions through the strong hygroscopic property of calcium chloride, which absorbs moisture from the air. The absorbed water then combines with the starch to form a gel-like substance, effectively preventing liquid leakage and ensuring safe, reliable moisture control.

It works by aggressively trapping ambient moisture, gradually hardening into a solid block upon absorption.
